Variable Gummi - 1 Guardian

After the crash of the alien Gummi Ship One in March 2002 it is discovered the crew was a race of giant creatures of darkness. Afraid of these aliens, the newly formed World Defense Force begins researching anti-darkness technologies. Utilizing the now named Gummi Technology found on the GS-1 the transforming fighter mecha called the Variable Gummi Ships are designed. WDF contracts Bowing and Lockheart Marten to develop an all terrain space capable variable gummi ship eventually known as the Guardian. Rising to the challenge, Bowing and Lockheart Marten subcontract with GT reaction powerplant producer Protega Heavy Industry and robotics developer Fortella to complete a basic design by 2012. The first transformable prototype is successfully tested in 2013 and the WDF decides to formally adopt the Guardian in November of that year. By late 2014 mass production is in full swing on the VG-1A variable gummi ship.
